Director James Wood appointed as chairperson of the Shropshire Housing Alliance
Saxonby director James Wood has been appointed as chairperson of local charity the Shropshire Housing Alliance (SHA).
The SHA is a merger of three organisations: Homeless in Oswestry Action Partnership, Housing Young People in Shrewsbury and North Shropshire Furniture Scheme. SHA’s principle objectives; through the provision of a broad portfolio of professional services including housing advice, support and furniture schemes; are to assist Shropshire homeless people in need of housing, to relieve poverty and protect or preserve the environment for the public benefit.
James Wood said: “It is an honour to be appointed chairperson and I am thoroughly looking forward to this exciting new challenge. SHA offers a critical service to the people of Shropshire and I hope that my skills can help the charity maintain and build upon the crucial work it is carrying out. We have to be innovative and visionary in competing for resources in this difficult financial climate and continue to out-perform our objectives. The staff are working extremely hard to ensure this and I intend to do all I can to drive the charity forward.”
