Saxonby recognised as a Mayor of Shrewsbury award winner
Saxonby has been recognised as a Mayor of Shrewsbury award winner 2014. Councillor Jon Tandy presented the annual accolades to individuals and businesses which have made a significant contribution to the town during the 12 months of his office.
Nominations were closed in March and then judged by a panel of members and officers of the Town Council including the Mayor.
Up against 16 other businesses and organisations Saxonby attained silver in the Community Awards category.
Director James Wood said: “We are very pleased to have attained silver which is a reflection of the time, effort and amount of ‘putting back in’ we carry out as a local company. The town’s welfare, vibrancy, environment and heritage is important not only to the people who live here but to those who visit as well. Shrewsbury has so much to offer and all of the nominees should be proud of their input.”
Councillor Tandy said: “I have come across so many inspiring individuals and organisations during my term of office. They consistently go above and beyond for our wonderful town. The ceremony honoured some of Shrewsbury’s unsung heroes.”
